LEVY RELEASES A wage levy or garnishment is a taking of income or assets, such as funds from a bank account, by the Internal Revenue Service as a means to collect outstanding taxes that the taxpayer has failed to voluntarily pay. The Internal Revenue Service is obligated by law to exempt only an extremely small portion of your available income from the wage levy. The typical result is that the taxpayer is left unable to pay necessary living expenses. |
